Housed at the Archives is at least one of each publication printed by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, Back to Godhead magazine and The Bhaktivedanta Archives. Except for the Bhaktivedanta Archives publications, most of these publications are not printed on acid free paper and therefore need to be treated, stored, housed and cataloged. Most of the publications are easily identified by date and issue. However cataloging will require a more in depth effort taking care to identify each printing. Scanning and microfilming would need to be carried out on those not already done.

Due to the age, use and quality of the publication some conservation work will need to be carried out. A mass deacidification off-site would be envisaged using a professional company specializing in this type of work. Depending on the value, condition and uniqueness of the publications some special containers will need to be made for the final housing of these works. Microfilming and long-term storage procedures would be similar to those for the documents.

Our current estimates of the cost of this project is $75,000 (not including the permanent facility mentioned above).
